Hey
This is my first project that I have posted on here. It is a WWII short that I put together using footage from a reenactment. Let me know what you think.

The name of it is operation Nordwind. You can watch the full version in Real Player or Windows Media Player. Also there is a higher quality version of it but it doesnt have the 2 intros at the beginning. Its a work in progress as we want to do some more filming for it and work on the editing, mainly sound and color correction. Take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks

that was a really impressive project. i loved the costumes. and the tanks! and the animated plane! the setting was great too.

a plot would be awesome, but as you stated, this is footage from a reenactment so i'm guessing your story telling ability is limited to what the editors can pull off. a great project, keep it up..

Nothing better than men running around in the woods in costumes with guns shooting at each other.

Haha, that was pretty fun!

Kinda ruined by Tom Hanks who kept shouting "Over the side" in the background. I would ditch the SPR atmos, it is very clearly nicked! Also the music is from the Rock isn't it?

I would try and get the reenactors to act out a script for you, with a few real actors and a storyline. The location was great..maybe a Battle of the Bulge type affair....?

Hey
Thanks for the comments so far. Me and my friend have tried similar projects with a plot line and dialogue but we dont usually have the Germans and all the people to direct. It was fun shooting it and I learned alot from it. The Tom Hanks voice was one of the things that I wanted to go back and fix. Yeah the music is from the Rock. I use startlogic for my server. Location is Fort Indiantown Gap PA. Thanks
Brian

You may be able to use your exsisting footage in a battle scene in a new film, looks like you could do something impressive with a good script. I'd be interested to see it if you do.

Hextorxd - That was some good stuff. Well done. My only suggestion is with your website. Presentation is very important and you should make your site as good as your films. Please read below:

Your Short Films Banner (and all other banners on your site) took a while to load and here's why; It is a 1.4MB hi-rez JPG and measures 3,300 x 1,056 pixels. THAT'S HUGE!!! Instead of shrinking it for your website in Photoshop (making it internet/download friendly), the web designer just resized it in their WYSIWYG Editor (Front Page, Dreamweaver, etc.) to 527 x 168. Unfortunately this means you keep the 1.4MB file size. YIKES!!! Most website graphics are between 7k and 30k. Below is a better version for your site. It is only 20k and all you need to do is save it and upload it to your "bannerpictures" website directory. Hope this helps!

After viewing some of your other pages I noticed the same mistake was done on other sections. Let me know if you want those resized as well. If not, you can do it in photoshop very easily. PM me. Good luck!

I've been of a mind to do something similar with some of the Civil War recreation folks around here...

I enjoyed it, thanks for sharing.
