A warning to Texas freelancers!

No worries, I know he is gearing up for a new "season" of his show, so he will likely be hiring off craigslist and mandy in the near future.

What do you mean by that?

Language translation isue I think:" It's not only over there"..

"It's not only" (so you're not the only one or the "country" is not the only one)
"over there" = in the country you live, so US, Texas, Houston that area.

As I live in Belgium, and also here are people who don't pay, are rude and just suck. I say that "also here are people like that".

So the "it s's not only over there" = also in belgium there are that kind of people.

Oh understood Dre, it's sad but true that people who take advantage are a dime a dozen. Since posting this info about this guy on the web I've gotten a dozen emails from folks who have been scammed by the same person. The worst one was a guy who had $250k skimmed from his business when this guy was his lawyer. Hopefully this all catches up with him one way or another.

Everything someone does, always comes back in one way or another... Weather it's something good someone did, or bad...

God I would love to make a doc on this guy, considering he seems to have some sort of personality disorder the more I think about interacting with him. But yes, good fodder for a comedy film too!

These are all too common in all part of the country. Scumbags that is. I had one guy who I had to threaten to take to court and when I got my money, people came out of the wordwork about how he had screwed them too.

It does most definitely catch up with people.... and also, there's no peace and happiness when you make a living screwing people. Just remember how quick and jumpy he must have been. The wicked get no peace...

There are good clients too... and good jobs. Just takes time to find them out.

I think it will catch up with him for sure. Just by making my post many people got in contact with me, and one told me that she is picking up a check from his office on Friday (when I will hopefully be paid too).

I think I've been lucky though, this was the first time I've had a non paying nightmare of a client since I was in college ten years ago!

Nope no contract, got called at the last minute for the job, and figured it was a weekend and I was free, so why not. I didn't imagine that someone would try to stiff me over one day rate!

That is not a name that I recognize from his company. Basically it seems that his company is a bunch of young women, several of them just out of college....which will make it easier for him to burn them when he eventually runs out of funding.

Quick update....after 200+ days of this invoice being out I was finally paid. So no more cause to quarrel with him. But freelancer beware...
