A user report from another forum

Uplifting report, Barry. Thanks. I'm tired of reading all the negative stuff I've seen on here lately.

I would hope that ANY brand troll would recognize that they're not welcome on this forum or on DVInfo... trolling is not tolerated here or there.

Problem is, a lot of trolls are in denial they're trolling. They think they're being "realists" or "devil's advocates." Someone doesn't have to just "think happy thoughts", but if they want to come in here and throw out molotov cocktails and go threadcrapping all over our users, well, they'll find that that kind of behavior is not welcome. No trolls here, please... :)

Another great report Barry. I particularly liked this comment of his:

And about the ongoing debate between the HVX and the H1 resolution/sharpness? If you really want a camera that has *significant* sharpness over the HVX then move up to a Vari-cam, HDCam or shoot film. The difference in sharpness between this and the H1 is so insignificant nobody watching whatever final content you produce with it would ever notice - or even care. And if that minute difference IS that important to you, you should be asking yourself, "why?".

Reading some of the threads around here lately, you'd think that resolution was the key to more original and interesting scripts, better acting and scene blocking, skillful camera work that conveyed point of view and subtext of a story, and on and on.

Talk about not seeing the forest for a couple of pine needles.

in other words... don't say bad things about the HVX200 on here cos we're in favour of it here, whether its true or not.... haha....

Just downloaded the 5 min short "Essence" from Dvinfo site.

The footage looks film like indeed... when lit properly, I don't see noise.

There is some noise in the some underlit scenes (bedroom, guy waking up).

Just a thought:

If we lit the bedroom scene normally, and then darkened the scene in post, will that take care of the noise problem?

Overall, I am impressed.

Someone else mentioned that as a possibility on another thread.

image quality isn't just how well it can define a number on a graph. people that should consider all options when getting something so expensive.

i decided on the HVX a while ago, but other people might not feel the same way. hell i'd honestly like to have the HVX, Canon, and JVC. i could think of uses for all of em'. :)
