A Steadicam Head That Allows Everything.

Sorry to jack the thread but... Does anybody know where or how I can get a similar 2 hoop design type of head that's almost like the one on top of the steadicam?

I'm basicly asking if there is a mount that will allow me to roll my camera around the axis of the lens? If there is a mount that does this, is there a poor man's version that exists?

yeah, it's called, "Rental" :)

Scharky,

who rents one? Do you know any rental houses that carry one? The reason I was asking about this is that I'd like to use one.

Thanks dude.

Not sure, I guess it depends on your location. That was just a general statement, as equipment costing 60-80 grand and up usually is rented instead of purchased, unless you are Rodriguez who shoots his family videos with a F950.
I would contact the company and ask them where you could find a reputable rental house that carries this steadycam.

Steadicam, and especially the some advanced variations of it, like the Alien Revolution, require special training and practice (years).
You don't normally rent just the gear, but rather hire and operator (who owns the gear) for your shoot.

Rook, post in the "Jobs and Resumes" section of www.steadicamforum.com if you are seriously looking for an AR/operator for a shoot. Please note, it won't be cheap.

mikkowilson,

great idea. Thanks dude. I'm waiting on the financing for the project I'd want this for (what else is new.) Butr when it comes in, I'll check that forum.

Never heard of it before. Thanks for the tip.

Oh, and as far as it not being ceap...is anything in this business?
