I've searched these forums and decided I have a fairly specific question so I made it a new thread (please don't shoot me).
My dvx has about 20 hours on it, and I'm already having the blinds effect when trying to play back footage, which I guess means I was unlucky and the heads got some dirt on them already. Sometimes the footage actually blanks out even though the timecode keeps going, which is weird. I sent my mom to the closest video store that carries professional/prosumer video equipment to get me a panasonic cleaning tape while I was at school, and they only stock sony cleaner tapes which cost almost $20, so she bought two. Apparently, they insisted it was a very high quality tape. So I'm wondering whether I should go get my money back and order a panasonic cleaning tape online or whether using the Sony would be fine. (I use panasonic MQ tapes in my dvx.)
