A shot I NEED TO LEARN!

there this shot i saw in a movie and i was wondering how to do it
here it is:

" A woman is playing the piano, while the ocean water comes into from screen right to in a way wash the piano scene away....it is a great transition.

any help.thankx

Thats quite easy actually. Just make sure you shoot the scene with a grade 3 tide filter. I think tiffen makes one.

It's probably a custom soft edge wipe from a fire suite or something like that. Doable in aftereffects.

This can be done with Vegas NLE. Its very simple. Just create an animated mask to follow with the edge of the waves rolling in. And thats it. It will be a custom wipe. Im assuming you know how to use a matte mask within a NLE. You can even set feather values to suit the naturalness.
