A Row of Bluish pixels on my 1080pa footage
I can't figure out this problem...there is a blue/purple line of pixels that is flashing on the top of my 1080pa 24fps raw footage, i haven't noticed this since i normally shoot 720p. I have viewed it in final cut, quicktime, and exporting it to a different codec...still shows up. I also checked on the camera monitor but i can't notice any problem there. Has anyone else had this problem????

and i checked my monitors...

I have attached a screen shot.

It a common problem when shooting 1080/24pA and removing the pulldown in FCP (or cinema tools). There has been some debate about the cause, some people say its an Apple problem and others believe it to be in the camera. As far as I know there's no fix on either end.

Also, if your looking for a quick fix to this what I do is just put a 1:78 widescreen matte on the footage. That gives you black bars small enough to block out the line on top and when exporting you can set it to crop them out and give you a true 1:78 aspect ratio. It's been working well so far as long as your not married to the few MMs of footage you loose on the top and bottom.

ok, but i log and transfer my footage in final cut from the p2 card. That raw footage on my capture scratch disk is perfect with no issues. Then when i look at the footage in the viewer(bring the footage into the time line) the problem shows up. The sequence it setup for the 1080p footage...I don't understand....its like final cut is just glitching on me. any ideas pple.... thx
