A review of Voigtländer 25/0.95 und 35/1.2 vs. Lumix G 14-140

How many aperture blade is that Leica Summilux 25mm? Leica are known for their wonderful lenses. In fact it has been said that the bokeh of the Voightlander comes close to that of a Leica.

I am not at my computer but from what little I could see on my phone Barry's test did not demonstrate the great bokeh quality of the Voightlander.

If I were you I'd keep and be very happy with the Leica.

The Voigtlander has 10 blades, so the bokeh should look very good.

Thanks for the feedback, Steve. From what I've seen the bokeh on the Voighlander is very, very nice which is a big plus. However the Leica is well regarded for its bokeh even with only 7 aperture blades (10 lens elements in 9 groupings).

The one thing I'm overlooking, probably because I seldom take stills, is I also have GH cams and the sharpness of the Voightlander may trump the Leica for still photos, even though the Leica has a rep for being sharp.

Voigtlander M43 lens 25mm f/.95, 11 elements in 8 groups, f.95 to f16, 10 aperture blades, filter size 52mm, close focus .17 meter or 1:3.9, length 70mm, diameter 58.4mm, weight 14.5 oz, lens hood included with lens

I'm eager to try my newly adquiered tair 11A 135mm 2,8 russian lens....it has 20 aperture blades.......and they say it is pretty sharp at f3.5.

Now off to save some more money to get the af.....

Yep, you can clearly count the 10 blades at 23;
Looks great though! Looking forward to the 25mm on the GH2 and AF100.

It's probably the nicest lens on my Af100 right now. It just barely fits on the camera with the Durus FF. Like most Zeiss lenses, the aperture ring is at the front of the lens which is a little awkward when using a follow focus and mattebox but totally workable.
