Hello all,
My girlfriend and I have spent the last couple of months hard at work on a promotional video for a nonprofit philanthropy group, called the Global Philanthropy Forum. They're one of those groups with lots of big names attached, Bill Clinton showed up this year, Larry Brilliant from Google, even some figures like Wyclef Jean, Peter Gabriel and Bono.
We had a major issue in that we had 3 years worth of video from their annual conferences, really bad transcriptions (or none at all) and no direction to go in. So we made it up. We decided to go with a more purposeful route, trying to show the need for philanthropy, and then GPF as a vehicle for that. I did another promotional video for GPF's parent company, the World Affairs Council, but this was something entirely different.
I would love some feedback on this. It's mostly clips from previous conferences, photos and a voice-over narration that my girlfriend did (not very well - we're planning on replacing it, but waiting to hear from the GPF people because they hated the first one that I did).
it's been really, really difficult because the person who wants me to do it is really negative and generally unpleasant to work for, and only wants to see names, instead of what the group is about. But I have to come up with something that pleases her, so I'm just not sure.
Here is the video, I'd love some response: http://www.jlboyce.com/video/GPF-20061113.mov
Thanks!
