A prequel to The Phantom Menace?

I think that in it's time, Star Wars was a modern day fairy tale. Much of my distain for the recent movies is that the original was just that GOOD.

Not wanting to go too overboard on this, but do you see other mythical figures in ad campaigns?

Yeah agreed, it tarnishes it a bit. It's like the first time (on another scale) I heard Gene Hackman doing a voice over for Home Depot or the first time I saw Robert De Niro's American Express ad. I was like "Man, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, what are you doing???"

The coporate stuff will fade pretty quickly though, this story will be around for decades. The next generation of Star Wars 'purists' will not have to suffer the Pepsi ads just as we didn't have to back in the 77-83 run.

Well . . . YES. All the time.

Whatever Lucas decides to do, be it a 30 minuted hold on a Storm Trooper taking a crap, fans will line up around the block for it (no offense to those die hard fans, I was there for the midnight showing in the back of the line but my friends and I dressed as clowns to make light of those dressed as Jedi...I have pics! Should I post?). They will already have the graphic novel and poseable action figures with real porcelin.

*SPOILER ALERT*

He doesn't wipe!

Gross

It's also kind of weird that this is the biggest marketing blast targeting the spectrum of demographics for the first PG-13 SW film. Some other news sites are pointing that out as well.

Oh man, I'm excited about those pics, Zack.

It sounds like a cool enough idea, and if Lucas had absolutely not a thing to do with it, it might be pretty damn good.

Here you go (description below):

detail

The names are from right to left are - Sad Face (ME) - the hobo clown, with exclusive Light Saber balloon, tear drop, and hobo stick on a broom...then Darth Goofius - the Clown Jedi Master, with exclusive balloon inflator (on him), cape, and jedi apparel....and finally Mr. Tits - Star wars comic relief to appeal to the younger audiences, with exclusive Light Saber balloon, horn of justice, and KISS star.

Sorry couldn't figure out how to exactly post the picture from a free domain. There are more pictures though from the album.

People who were in line, most of them at least, thought it was hiliarious. Myself and Mr. Tits challenged several of the young jedi's to dual...and won! I stabbed a girl in the neck with mine. Darth Goofius kept shooting people with his imaginary lightning bolts and making poodles to fight with.

We were very far in the back of the line and I had some friends second in line. They came out because they heard some clowns were in line. Dressing like this made the movie worth it, even though we only stood in line for like 2 hours compared to our friends who were in line for over 12 hours (and we ended up sitting by them) If there would have been a contest, we would have won. Next big movie, PIRATES!

HAHAHAAHAHAHA, That is AWESOME.

Way to go Zack! That's really good clown make-up! And the baloon sabers are the crowning touch.

I try, thanks a lot guys!

I forgot to mention, during the evening we went inside to see our friends at the front of the line. As 2 of us (Darth and I) were leaving the building, I said in a loud voice, "Look at all these nerds who dressed up like Jedi." Got a few laughs from that.
