Hey all, you may or may not remember when the tsunami hit, I donated 100% of my book sales' proceeds for about 7 weeks to go to the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
Well, I just saw a news story that's gotten under my skin, so I'm going to do it again -- this time, 100% of book and DVD sales revenues up to $500 are going to the family of Lori Duff.
This has nothing to do with politics or debating or anything like that, just that this particular family lives near the poverty line, is being sued by a hospital (when they should have received charity care from that hospital), and may lose their house in the process, and it cheeses me off. So I'm going to send donations their way.
If anyone can spare ten or twenty bucks to help a family out who is really up against the wall, you can send a check made out to "Lori Duff" to:
Legal Aid Society of Columbus
1108 City Park Ave.
Columbus, OH 43206
Attn: Kathleen McGarvey
If you want to just send it to the Legal Aid Society of Columbus instead, that's a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit, so your contributions will be tax-deductible.
