A Perfect Panasonic Camera?

Thought it might be interesting to start a thread where people can put list all the things they'd love to see in a panasonic camera. And hey you never know, panasonic might just listen to them!

I currently own a dvx100 and want to move to hd but there doesn't seem to be the perfect camera for me untill you go up in price to say the hpx500.

So here are some of the things I would love to see in a new Panasonic camera in between the hvx200 and the hpx500:

Basically a hvx200 with
1/2" ccds
SDI
Interchangeable 1/2" lens

but instead of being handheld it is shoulder mounted like the hd100 cameras.

(I like the more proffesional layout of the hd100, 200, 250s series but HDV makes me cringe. On the other side I like the fact that the hvx200 records DVCPRO HD, uses P2 cards and the menus are like a dvx100. But the fact that the lens is fixed is a shame.)

So if I could have a hvx200 in a hd250 body with 1/2" interchangeable lens, sdi and other more proffesional features making the move to hd would be a no brainer.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Panasonic may be upgrading the hvx 200 this year, but who really knows. Most of the stuff you listed is already out by panasonic, its the hpx500 with bigger 2/3 chips. I seriously doubt panasonic will make a shoulder mount interchangeable lens camera for anything less than an hpx500.

Interchangeable lens in camera of this price range (sub 10k) doesn't make sense to me. If you're buying a sub 10k camera, you're unlikely to want to spend money on additional lenses, some of which which can cost as much as the camera itself. Just look at the Canon XL line for example. It boasted interchangeable lenses as a selling point, but most people never move beyond the stock lens. The XL-H1 didn't sell not because it's HDV, it didn't sell because the interchangeable lens option raised the base price of the unit above the competitions. I don't understand why people keep asking for a "cheap" camera without a fixed lens. If you can't afford the lenses to begin with, why even bother? Not to mention many people are using 35mm adapters on their camera, which renders the fixed lens issue moot.

Hi guys.

I thought it might be interesting to see what people would like to see in the future.

See there was a point when I thought maybe I should get a hd100 at some point because although the lens supplied is not fantastic it is atleast a proper manual lens. But then I found out more about the hvx200. Finally a sub 10k camera with DVCPRO HD.

To put it simply I would love to see the hvx in a hd100 body.

My biggest wish would be a compact cam. that could do 24P, 60P and everything in between, sort of a compact HVX or even the new HNC 150 but the size of an SD1 for example and the strength of serie F Nikon.
