A mount lenses on Sony A7S 2 using an LA-EA4

I just purchased the La-ea4 adapter and both a Sony 50mm 1.4 and Minolta 24-105mm A mount lens. I cannot control the shutter speed unless I go to full manual mode. When I'm using auto focus S or C, the shoot mode defaults to P (auto) even when I set it to M. I need to go on manual focus to be able to fix the shutter speed. I'm so frustrated because I cannot fix the shutter speed to 60fps or 50fps. When at auto focus, P mode will override the shutter settings. I have no choice but to set the focus mode to manual all the time. Its such a pain coz the focus rings in these lenses are so clumsy. Is there a solution other than to use a follow focus gear? Help.

This is how the whole sony "trancelucent technology" is designed - so that it won't let you choose your shutter speed and diaphragm (though there was a trick, u can lock exposure/shutter speed and compensate with ISO). Also your lenses have mechanical coupling with the adapter through metal gears (both 50/1.4 and 24-105), so a full time manual focus override isn't possible unless you switch it to manual focus (you actually decouple the gears).
