A love story

Re: A love story

I like this one. Very nice composition and score, and, not to be seen so often: A good punchline.

Two questions:

1) What extras did you use for the panning ?

2) What effect/program did you use to do the highlights ?

Keep up the nice work!

Re: A love story

i liked this one as well. although i found it a bit akwardly slow moving, i think that that akwardness amy have added to the overall quirky appeal to it. could be a little shorter imho, but otherwise well done. i liked the camera movement.

Re: A love story

Speaking of what is cinematic.

This was excellent.  A nice short and a nice surprise for Valentines.  There is talk in another thread of what is cinematic and what is not.

This is cinematic.

The opening shot at the computer, the establishing shot of the couple on the porch and again when the young man is inspired to write.

It is great how these simple camera movements (I love a moving camera) enhance the visual acuity of this piece.  These movements draw the viewer in and direct the viewers attention to exactly what the filmaker is showing.  It makes one's attention draw specifically to the focal point.

There are tricks in Oil Painting (I reference Oil Painting because it is something I know about) that one can use to draw attention to your focal point on canvas just like in film.  Everyone should pay attention to this short, simple piece.

I give it a 4 out of 5.

I liked the blue.  Very stylistic and I imagine intended.  I loved the composition and the nice little score.   The acting was amatuer I felt. I felt a few of the scenes could have been cut sooner (When you get your point across in the scene move on).

This is cinematic.

Re: A love story

It was mildly entertaining. The actor was kinda of a Ham, esp. when he was thinking about what to write. The overall message was cute. Nice shot composition. 2.5 out of 4.

Re: A love story

the 2 shots I liked were the transition shot leading into I guess was the dream of the kissing scene. I also liked the high angle slow push into the hands typing on the keyboard. BTW nice to hear the keys clacking on that keyboard too! All in all I thought it was pretty cool.

Re: A love story

We used a promax cobra crane/jib arm.

For color, filmFX and the glow function in After Effects Production Bundle.

Thanks for the feedback!
