As a kind of a personal thank you to this forum for all the stuff we've learned here while making our first movie with a DVX100 (not A :), here's the trailer of our short film "Irti", roughly translated as "Separate". It is our tenth short film with our group of about 20 young filmmakers.

Shot with the DVX100, edited and color corrected in Final Cut Pro HD.

Here it is: http://www.welhofilmi.com/wfiles/irti_traileri.mpg

MPEG1, about 27,5MB. We would love to hear comments!

- Oskari, the director
- Joni, the cinematographer

P.S: A rough translation of what they are saying in the end...

Boy: "I'd rather be alone than feel like this."
Girl: "Can you be alone?"
Boy: "Yes I can."

Very Nice...
The more contrasty darker shots looked good... and the acting is very good (nice to see)... both actors were good...
also liked the piano playing... would have liked to see if that was the guy playing the song???
the lighting for the day scenes was a bit too flat though, not enough texture in the image, the walls were white... a no no in DV... (then again I'm breaking apart shot by shot... so in the final story I'm sure it wont matter)
the "long" kiss between the actors was great, nice lighting and you could feel the passion...
nice trailer, just needs some overall polish and maybe a bit more story elements of what "interesting" things happen in the film (a little vague I know... just something to draw the audience in more) and some better trailer effects (like the text at the end needs to be improved to give it more spiff and shine).
