A good lavalier mic that is easy to hide

I am looking for a lav mic that sounds good, is easy to hide on actor, will work with my lectrosonic wireless systems and are affordable.

I've read that a lot of people like the Tram tr50, but it's around $300. Is there something more affordable that still does the job? I want to buy 2.

Thanks!

$200 - $300 is pretty much the standard price range for good sounding lavs. The Countryman EMW lav is about the cheapest lav I would use for professional work. ( under $200 )

NOTE: There are about 60+ versions of the EMW mic from Countryman, so you may need to do some research to figure out exactly which one you want.

Take a look at the Oscar Soundtech 801 and 802. Almost identical in size and shape to a Tram but about half the price of a TR-50. Tram's clips/accessories fit perfect. They can be purchased directly with a wireless plug of your choice or with a XLR hardwired Phantom power adaptor or plugin. OST's customer service is top shelf, and their mics are highly regarded amongst pros and http://oscarsoundtech.com/services.html .
Other than that, the Countryman B3 and Rode lav are very good, though a different design of the flat side-fire TR-50 type.

I'd have to strongly second this. I have three OST lavs, and while I don't reach for them first it's not because of their quality - they're fantastic and, as mentioned the service is beyond reproach. They fixed an issue that wasn't entirely their doing for me without any real effort on my part. The mics are also well made and come in handy pelican cases with clips and windscreens and the like. Their TL-40 is very easy to hide and the OST I use most (carry it everywhere).

In addition, a B6 can often be 'hid' in plain sight but it's susceptible to wind and tough to work with if using the gator clip. That said, I have two of them as well. Pros an cons to most mics though.
