A golfer's putting routine

Ok - once too many.

As a golfer I notice the pros do the same routine before every putt.  That way they make sure something isn't missed - for example.

Military folks have books and lists for everything!  Want to tighten that screw on the engine housing?  Grab check list AFI37-134.

Now -- what 'putting routine' do you do to make sure you've got the right set-up?

I cannot tell you how many times that stupid scene wheel has moved on me and I don't notice it until after I've shot a take or two.

The other half of the question is how do I keep it from moving!

But -- Here's my routine (now).

Lense cap off
Hit it with my cleaning pen thingie
Check the gain
Check the focus
Open LCD window
Check the audio settings

CHECK THE DAMN SCENE WHEEL

Set the white

Ugh.  Just lazy, I guess.

Re: A golfer's putting routine

don´t forget: check if "RECORD" is on!!
remeber a tape i got from a guy who had shot way over his head (fitness wise which results sooner or later in mental problems) high in the mountains.

he hit record once too often. then i "see him" packing the cam away....10 minutes black and skiing and lifting noises. then "I see him taking the cam" out of the backpack. he gives commands and the cam shakes around and.....he presses RECORD which actually now TURNED the cam OFF. and so on until the tape was done. you can imagione how funny the tape looked.

so ALWAYS make sure you check if you actually record when you are recording....

..an important note that i make sure to check is that the timecode is rolling.. there is usually a one to 2 sec delay from the time you hit record, and the time the camera starts rolling with timecode, so i wait to actaully say action untill i see the timecode going and we have been rolling for a sec.. especially if the beginning of somthing is important.
