This is our entry for the Seoul, Our Movie contest being hosted by Oldboy director Chan Wook Park. He and his brother are making a collaborative film in a similar fashion to Life in a Day where the film is made by various people.
The interview shots are with a Voigt 25mm, and most of the garden shots are with the Tokina 11-16 with Metabones Nikon MFT. Additional shots were with the GoPro Hero 2 and Panny G6.
A note about doing the balloon shot. We rented a disposable helium tank and made a Styrofoam cradle to put the gopro in. While we were able to get the shot, there were a couple of problems. First and foremost, we had too many balloons and the fishing wire almost snapped because the wind started to pick up after it was really high. After almost having a heart attack for a few minutes, John was able to bring the balloon back down to safety. Another problem was that the cradle was spinning too much because there were no wings to stop it. Luckily there was at least 10 seconds of usable footage we got which is more than enough for a 3 minute doc. I have some unedited BTS footage that will hopefully see the light of day soon. Enjoy!
