a film which make you cry

I have heard that Cinema Paradiso is an amazing movie. I went to rent it 3 times over the course of 2 months and it was out each time. I gave up. But that was some time ago. I should give her another go...

This is gonna sound really dumb, but "Deep Impact" made me cry like a little girl at the end. Sad...

"Green Mile" was rough, too. So was "Forrest Gump".

I didn't care for the movie itself, but in terms of absolutely beautifully stunning cinematography... I was greatly impressed, almost moved to tears, by the cinematic images in "HEAVEN" with Cate Blanchett

Johnny Cash covers the NIN song Hurt - Mark Romanek's music video for him.

I butchered that sentence.

I cried at a screening of a musicvideo I shot. The co-producer stole the production and shopped it around town as a pilot for the Playboy Channel and got a series deal out of it . . . and I was robbed of my DP screen credit and any future work on the series. The audience actually applauded a Steadicam shot I lensed during the screening. Oh yeah, the musicvideo also won an award at the festival it was screening at. When the screen faded to black, I screamed as loud as I could, "F*CK YOU TONY MILLER!!!," the producer that stole the show. He sheepishly exited the theater.

I do not think cinematic images make somebody cry

If you are referring to my post, the "almost moved to tears" comment was said tongue-in-cheek. The images were breathtaking, however, but not tearmaking

Actually, I think surf deserves a few serious responses to his original post. I think what makes people cry in a film is when the director/screenwriter is truly successful in making the audience really care about the character as if they were a real person (I think that's the objective of 99% of all narrative films, isn't it?). To me, this is the single greatest result from a cinematic effort--to make someone feel something deeply emotional--emotional enough to cry. If I could make a film someday that would be able to make someone cry, I will then think of myself as a capable director.

well........how about honestly showing the true feelings of one self put onto the screen welcoming the audience to share that feeling.........feelings ......nothing more than feelwings.... i'm so wonwee..i'm so wowee...sorry flashback team america

ye, I think the secret is in the true and pure feelings. in the point of this one of my favourites is the Lost in Translation, I nearly cryed. although some of the images were also nice, I don't that is reason for it

thank you Laffen
