My second day using a dvx100a, first day using my own. (I bought one!!!)
Some of these are from a camera I demoed, some from my own camera. They are all shot in "I wonder what happens if I press these buttons" mode, which also resulted in some horrific images full of nothing but noise and washed out blurriness.
Sorry about the high compression, too...
The light was terrible, but the color fidelity here is pretty amazing (you'll have to trust me on that one.)
The cinegamma really helped broaden the dynamic range here. The gl2 I tried blew out the sky; there was no definition in the clouds, just overexposed whites. That's an sdx-900 in the bottom of the frame. Sooooooo nice.
Uhh....I like the colors I guess....
Yeah....
The detail definitely impressed me.
Some gripes, though:
24p mode (which looks awesome, overall) is really, really noisy even in good light. It was actually much noiser than the gl2 in good light, but had considerably less noise in bad light.
Low light performance is superb up to a point, and after that it's abysmal, and I mean hideous. Still, it's superb up to a pretty impressive point.
Lastly, the many variables and controls (coupled with a terrible auto mode) have been a bit tricky to work with. Sure, you can get great results by adjusting stuff right, but with so many variables, it's easy to screw things up and it's hard to get just the shot you want. The pd-170 was much better for point and shoot and I suppose the gl2 was, too.
Going to test greenscreening soon, I hope it goes well....so far, I've been very impressed, though.
