The first question my sound dumb I shall ask anyways.

Do the dvxuser batts have memory effect?

Would I be able to use my HDR HC3 as a capture cam? for a soon to be ordered DVX100b?? even in 24p and 30p?????


And is a Rode NTG-1 mic and SM5 mount work well with the dvx.
 
1. No there is no charger memory effect with the DVX battery.

2. Yes, you can use any SD, MiniDV camcorder for capture with no loss of image quality. Also, you can use a cheap SD MiniDV camera as a slave unit. Here's how:

3. If the HDR HC3 is HD, then no, you cannot use it as a capture cam for the DVX. The DVX is SD. SD and HD use different protocols.

4. I am not familiar with the mic you mention but I have heard that Rode makes a good mic.

I use the ntg-1 with a dvx100b and am pleased with it. I don't use the sm5 but looked at a picture of it. I would make sure that, especially with a dead cat, it won't show onscreen.
