A day in the park Brevis35 tests

Beat Takeshi

Two-Hip Shakur
Hey all,
Yes another installment of my infamous run and gun "Days at the park" with the Brevis35. I just got the new version from Dennis with Cinefuse #1 diffuser and threw it on and took it for a spin. This time I'm adding full rez screen shots since I get tons of requests for them after I post these small videos so here we go.

DVX and Brevis35 and a cheap ass canon mount zoom lens. The lens isn't by Canon though, its by sears or some thing like that. Really cheap but works. The next video like this will be featuring Zeiss lenses.

Thanks guys. I guess its not entirely but Dennis did it himself so I still consider it one. He worked hard and long to get it where it is and used the info from these and other boards to get it moving. He just took it to another level.

Looks sweet -- can't wait for mine to arrive. But I think we can give Dennis some credit and move him out of the DIY arena. Anything built out of carbon fibre on a multi-axis lathe is a bit beyond that. :)

Great piece Aram. One thing I've noticed since you started posting up clips with the adpater...your focus racks/tracking are getting better and better, certainly beyond my skills. The dog approaching in the last scene is a great example as you kept focus with the 35mm zoom lens. Composition on those stills looks great too.

Makes you wonder if shooting with an adapter would be great training for shooting with film??

Thanks guys. I'm glad you enjoy the clips Chris, I enjoy going out and making them.
I think the racking is easier when its cold out since the focus is a little stickier.
I love the colors I got. Very earthy.

One day I will shoot on film when I can afford it.

That was spectacular.
I have one question, isn't the image up side down?If it is how do you manage to focus and frame so good?

I have the DVXa so I can use the magnet trick on the LCD that flips it for me.

hey that looks good man, What the focal length on the lens?

And Dennis, the Bokeh rendtion is getting better. Nicework.

Footage looks good to me. I want to see you apply it to a film though, mo-fo.

But really, you need an HVX. :)
