A day at the printshop

Liked that a lot. It reminded me of, I wish I could remember the name, an old montage of people editing film in a mass production, assembly line kind of way. My editing teacher in school showed it to us.

What shutter speed were you at? It looks a bit like stop motion.

There's only one stop motion shot.
The one of the paper escalatig.

Mostly the shutter speed is 1/250, for some shots it's 1/120

Lights are a fill and a ... dunno what it is in english ... fresnell! -;)

Standard HVX. Some shot to disk, some to P2.

Shot today -;)

WOW!!! All I can say is that is B.E.A.UTIFUL.

Be share your settings, and if you had tripod, lighting, and if you did any CC in post.

OK, I'll try to make a smaller.

QT is the thing...

I just finished downloading it, the problem is that your audio isn't using any compression -- it's set for 32-bit Integer. Try IMA 4:1, it gives you pretty good audio quality with significant space savings.

And yes, the video looks very nice. I like industrial machines, it reminds me of Justin's video of his father's looms.

OK!

THNX everybody.

The small QT is up!

11 MB

I dunno what makes what what...

BTW.

I Used a tripod and the lights already mentioned.

I just set up the scene file as I felt apropriate and I've done some basic CC in FCP to match the images.

Very textural --- loved it! But did Bob Gundu have anything to do with this? All the sudden I'm seeing a lot of feet in these clips. Hmmmm.

Feet!
I'd love that -;)

Thanks again eveyone!

I forget I use the Pana 17" for focus.
Actually bugs me a bit that it isn't 1080 (though that's of no great concern for the HVX)...

I also have the Dell 24" and am planning to compare the two as on-set monitors whenevr I have time. The dell is a lot cheaper so it'd feel less riscy to drag around...

Very nice looking footage. Love the look with the faster shutter. Does kind of look a little bit like my dad's factory footage, but I had to shoot wide open at 1/24th as I didn't have a light kit. Would have loved to have had more light so I could bump up the shutter. check it out here:

Looks stunning and just something larger and more spectacular when you bump up that shutter. I shoot most of my exteriors this way. and getting interiors to register is a bit of a challenge, unless I have my light kit..

CONGRATS... 1080 looks wonderful.... Got anything more? Would love to see!

Really liked your clip!
You're da boss.

But I see your point about lighting.

I'll upload a bit the next couple of weeks as I'm working on a showreel.

The HVX isn't Red, but then again:
Who's got a Red yet?

I like my baby, and I'm sure I'll love Red! -;)

Totally noisefree hirez images can come later. -;)
