A customize Full Rig

Thanks guys. Appreciate the comments. Hopefully i can get it finished before my first major shoot with this rig begins next February. And believe it or not, I will also have the honor to fly the RED with this baby. Well, I have never used the RED before so it will be a real challenge.

You will find it is a true heavy weight of a camera. I have flown it now with both a Glidecam and my own Hypercam. My Hypercam was actually made to fly the RED and does a much better job with it. Load all of the batteries, hard drive and other stuff as low as possible and you should have no problem overcoming the higher center of gravity.

LOL... Have your 'dock' close at hand to dump it after each take. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) (Saves the old back...) :kali:

How did it handle?

Got most of the parts (still waiting on monitor)...

Now to get it all to play nice together... Also have to mention the flycam6000 is much better then the 5000...

Hey Nick. how is your modified SK? you havn't posted any updates on HBS so I was just curious.

I havn't changed much on it, as it's functional the way it is.....I havn't even gotten a monitor for it yet, but just got a bit of cash and am getting a Marshall 70p. Once I have this I'll start expanding the rigs abilities like pushing YPbPr through the whole thing, making the weight on the bottom adjustable(monitor on one side, Tekkeon on the other).

It's actually become a regular piece of equipment, and I drag it along to almost every gig I do....by far one of the best purchases I've ever made.

How much did the Marshall 70p cost?

I havn't actually gotten it yet, but B&H sells the hdmi version for about $950 usd:

Of course that's the Panasonic mount version.....I have extra panny batteries, although I'd primarily power it via my Tekeon.

I'm planning on buying a rail mount system, and putting it on the bottom stage. I'll put the monitor on one side, and the battery on the other....I'm sure I could go more DIY for cheaper, but I figure that easily adjustable equipment pre-exists in rail systems.

Hopefully I'll have the monitor within a week and a half....then the whole system finished off within 3 weeks...I'll post more on HBS once everything is more set in stone.

Two versions of the sled. The pro-like is the one I'¨m going with and the third one which I will post later. But I like options, as you can see. Being able to re-arrange the sled to fit a certain style or configuration to suit a shoot is a big plus. Every configuration may not work for everyone or every situation but having the ability to be flexible is A+.

Here is the third configuration of the same rig. so that's it. 3 options from one sled. not bad I think.

WoW!!! This version looks really nice Charles. It is amzing how you made all 3 versions into one sled. I like the first and second versions the best. :) btw how is the book coming? I really like to read what you done to the rig.

Thanks. The book is delayed for a little while longer 'till I can test it fully. I am waiting on some springs and new plugs. I know I keep delaying but I like to give my feedback on the rig after so many years trying to put it together. ;) Yeah, I know. Slow :)
