A couple FS-100 questions

So with the camera in hand, I finally got done reading the manual after 2 painstaking hours. I have a couple questions if you guys wouldn't mind helping me out

1) I'm a little confused when it comes to over/under-cranking. What's the difference between smooth slow motion and then S&Q? Why not just change your recording frame rate to 60p and then drop it down to 24 in post? Is there an advantage to using one over the other.

2) Is there a specific video out setting I should have to use in conjunction with my SmallHD DP6 monitor? (720 capable)

3) Any recommendations on picture profiles? I was using technicolor's cinestyle on the 5DII. Would love to have a neutral, flat, and then superflat/cinestyle equivalent on the FS100. Can you just download picture profiles like the 5dII or do you have to manually configure them?

4) Is there a way to set the camera to something like 1fps (or even slower) to record time-lapse?

4... Menu - S&Q Motion - Select 1fps - execute - record.

1. smooth slow motion is useless, so beter just forget about it :) in S&Q setup you set the recording FORMAT and then you choose any FPS :1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30 or 60 so if your recording format 108024p you will get 2.5 Slow motion effect with set on 60fps..

2. Don't think you need any specific settings in video out for Small HD .. but maybe I'm wrong ? :)

3. Here you will find ANY usefull picture profiles : http://blog.abelcine.com/2011/07/25/fs100-scene-files-from-abelcine/ the best ( for my taste ) is AB_RANGE and you can get 5DM2_TEC wich is exactly represent technicolor's cinestyle on the 5DII

4. Read # 1 :)

ops... I'm slow :)

So is there any difference between doing your slow motion through S&Q or just going and manually setting your recording format to 60p and conforming it down later in post?

* S&Q mode has better bitrate over 60p
* S&Q mode does not have Auto Exposure feature
* S&Q does not record audio
* S&Q may require a faster SD card

So the main advantage S&Q 60p has over the normal 60p is the slightly better bitrate.
