First to say, in PAL world, everything seems to be fine.
But it isn't. I tried a lot of Blu-Ray Players and none of them was able to switch to 50p/i on playback.
(most of them do, but only at correct AVCHD structure)
So, why not trust in 720p/60 and 1080i/oops what?
Taking 24p to an 30i wrapper is like shooting from your neck through your eye.
And that's my question, if there is enough power to calculate this, why is there no chance to get a
real 30p output at 1080 in AVCHD?
Ok that's no common standard, but remember AVCHD lite, it's also a compromise.
I tried a lot of settings and bitrates, but only 720p50/60 are really usable and give fine results.
(23k/s/h - 25k/overall)
Sometimes less is more, since there's a way to get more pics/s at 1080.
