A clip spread between two cards?

Hey all,

I was just wondering if you have two P2 cards in the camera, and you are shooting a take and the first card fills and recording goes to the second card....is there a way to make that all one clip in Avid or does it only have to be two clips split between the two cards? I'm just concerned if it's like it the middle of a take. Is there a wrapper file that will reconnect the files back into one clip in Avid?

All MXF-aware editors will treat multi-segment clips as a single recording, regardless of whether those segments span cards or not. Since all files on P2 cards are limited to 4GB in size as a result of the FAT32 file system, even a recording that fits on a single card will often be recorded as more than one segment.
