A clip from a film I just directed (Z1)

This is from the rough cut of my feature film 9:04 AM, so my DP (Jon Fordham) and I haven't color corrected, etc. We shot on the Z1 in CineFrame 25 mode, then I cut in native HDV in the latest Final Cut Pro. I copied it to a new sequence and set up the compressor settings to Photojpeg at 75% quality (4:2:2 uncompressed HD, 8-bit; 100% quality makes it 10-bit) and exported as a QuickTime Movie. I used Cinema Tools to convert from 25 fps to 23.98 fps, re-imported into a new sequence (still at Photojpeg-75 and 23.98 fps) then did the web export.

Also, Jon used a tobacco filter with a matte box and follow focus and did some settings in the camera for the look we have.

ps-Sorry I haven't been online. Spent over 2 weeks shooting the film in October.

It only took 3 days to put the rough cut together on Final Cut Pro. With the Quad, it took around 10 hours to convert to uncompressed HD, render, output to a QT Movie, change to 23.98 fps, render again and then output via Compressor for an SD DVD.
