A bit pricey, eh?

Maybe, maybe not. High demand, low supply...seems fair for some of the people who NEED a HVX right now but probably won't have a chance at a new one before late March.

If someone looking for a HVX had a demand for HD today, the extra $2000 would be earned back in about 2 weeks.

With all the people acting all indignant towards Panasonic for not having the camera they want right now, seems they should stop posting complaints and start bidding on ebay. :)

Cheers

Hmm, I don't know about that. It's been on Ebay for 3 days with ZERO bids. If these cameras are in such high demand why isn't there at least 1 bid on it? After all, this has the extra cards you would need to make the new tape free workflow manageable plus an extra battery. Seems like the perfect setup.

Don't confuse low production from Panasonic with everyone wants one.

Have you ever used ebay ? Only bid at the end... It not good for the seller, but can provide a cheaper buy at the end.

Also the RESERVE does scare alot of people... Because they could put a 18k$ reserve. So even if someone win it, it might not be ennuf... One reason I wouldn't bet on it...

The Reserve is use for the 'minimum' you will allow to sell it... So you put bid at 2000$ for example, and if it doesn't go up to 10k$ then you dont have to sell it.

Don't think I am, point is plenty of people are complaining they can't get one now, clearly they can, just gonna have to pay a little extra for it if time is such an issue.

Because it is priced above retail and people want the camera now at a bargin price. I would like it today but have no immediate need so I choose to wait rather then pay more. I choose good and cheap, but someone else might choose good and fast. More then one type of consumer out there.

I think next week will see a number of units available. I know a reseller who has 6 "confirmed to arrive next week" who only has 4 of them pre-sold. although, it's not the package I am going to buy, so it might not be for me. Although, things could change in the next week.

Gee Really? Come on now, I've sold and bought many things on ebay. Knowing there is a reserve shouldn't scare anyone, bid what you are comfortable bidding and if it doesn't meet the reserve then who cares you don't have to buy it.

When there is a hot item people bid on it from day one. It's always better for sellers to wait to bid but many don't. People were paying thousands for a silly Xbox 360 before christmas. If this was that much in demand people would pay the premium for it.

I've ordered my HVX at a great deal, my deposit is 100% refundable, now I'll wait and see when if ever they make enough to satisfy the orders. Who knows, if it takes too long NAB may come and change everything.
