Hello everyone, my name is Peter & i have just joined upto this forum.
I have recently purchased a used HVX200 & a Gates underwater housing.

I am having a hard time finding the setting to record in dvcpro HD. I have read the user manuel a few times but i still can't seem to adjust the setting.
I have the record format set to 1080i p/a & then under that setting it has 480i rec mode & that says DVCPRO50 & it is in blue & i can't change that.
Can someone give me a hand to find out how to adjust this please?
I just did a firmware update as i was running version 4.06 & now have 4.10. I also purchased a new E series 64gb P2 card.
When i check the recorded footage it shows the V.Format as DV100.
Does this sound right? Do these cameras also record Intra 100?
Thanks heaps in advance & looking forward to becoming a regular on this forum.
Cheers Pete.

If you have it set to 1080, then it is *automatically* in DVCPRO-HD. Nothing further that you need to do.

DV100 is another name for DVCPRO-HD. There's DV25 (DVCPRO standard-def at 25 megabits), DV50 (DVCPRO-50 standard-def at 50 megabits) and DV100 (DVCPRO-HD at 100 megabits). DV100 is not the same as AVC-Intra 100. DV100 is an intra-frame 100-megabit codec, but it is an earlier codec and not as advanced as the newer AVC-Intra100.

Barry, thanks for setting me straight. I thought i had to adjust the setting somewhere & it was doing my head in.....
I did notice a big improvement in image quality after i updated the firmware.

Al, i was lucky enough to purchase a housing that was as good as brand new at a ridiculously cheap price so that sealed the deal for my upgrade. My monitor arrived last night for the housing so this weekend is my first time underwater with it. Very excited about that.

Kyle, i am very need to the HVX so i will check out the links you posted. I need all the help i can get. Hopefully in a few weeks time i can post some footage for you guys to check out.
Cheers Pete.
