a better way to attach your loupe

I suggested this to Steve from Zacuto when the V3 z-finders came out. I'm using a really right stuff quick release which isn't compatible with the new Zacuto mounts. The weight of the z-finder has pulled the glass off my 5D's LCD! The z-bands are just barely holding everything together.

I have one of those screen protectors lying around somewhere and Steve sent me a replacement z-finder frame when he heard about my troubles. (At the time I thought it was the z-finder frame coming loose from the LCD screen and didn't realise it was actually the LCD glass falling off the 5D.) I'll see if the 2 parts will fit together and report back.

I've mounted my loupe on an LCD shade, which looks like pretty much the same thing, except it doesn't have a piece of glass covering your LCD. I prefer no glass, optical quality is better. Just remove the shade doors and connect it over the eyepiece. Snaps on and off quickly. I fixed my loupe to the LCD shade with a few pieces of gaffer tape, so I can always remove it from the shade in the future. Still holding strong after more than a year.
