$99 Kamerar FF-3 Follow Focus Review

Nice review. At the end when you said, "...an excellent entry level follow focus and at $99, it's a steal for budget concious filmmakers." That made me laugh a little since you've got it hooked up to a Red.

Just picked one of these guys up. I initially had Jag35's Sidekick follow focus but felt that the friction based system would really start to wear down the rubber on my Canon L lens with frequent use. It's a give and take but I rather give them have something take away from my precious lens :)

I found your video when doing my research. Looking forward to receiving mine soon.

Thanks

I'm thinking about getting one of these for zoom control. I already have a better FF but would like a cheap zoom option...

I was originally steered away from this because it seemed a bit flimsy mounting on only a single rail, but I own their Tank DSLR Cage and that thing is awesome!
Although their slider could be better, after watching this I think ill pick one up for zoom...

I have a feeling its because it was stuck on a red :)

I forgot to mention I really dig this company because they are MADE IN THE USA at china prices!!!

I was thinking the same thing, and that it might fall if it came loose. But then I thought... all the weight is on the opposite side of the clamp so that won't happen. Explains why it hooks on from the bottom. It might be pretty stable actually.

EDIT: My bad. I had in my mind a different FF that I can't seem to find now. Really frustrating when that happens!

Yeah, not sure about the single rail mount. That could need an awful lot of tightening down on the clamp to keep it from turing around the rail.
