The new compact and lightweight .8x HD Wide Angle Converter screws onto the front of a 72mm DV/HDV camera zoom lens, effectively shortening its focal length while maintaining full zoom capabilities. Attach the compact .8x HD Wide Angle Converter to the front of a lens for 20% more coverage when set to wide angle, telephoto or anywhere in between. This can be especially advantageous when shooting in tight quarters. This product also comes with a rectangular sunshade.
Features:
• Low Cost HD Quality, Compact Size & Full Zoom-through
• Lightweight - Almost half the size and weight of other available wide angle attachments
• Universal 72mm Screw-on
• Front filter thread of 86mm. Schneider 86mm Clear filter available.
(With the Panasonic DVX100 A/B, use the Schneider 86mm Slim Line Clear filter.)
• Fits 72mm DV/HDV Cameras: Sony HVR-Z1U & HDR-FX1, Panasonic AG DVX100A & 100, Canon XL2 20X AF Lens and many more

A wide angle lens and an anamorphic adapter are different things...
So this isn't an option for replacing the LA7200. But it could be considered instead of the Pana .8 wide angle lens.

i thought the only difference is wide angle is wide angle and the anamorphic is "real" 16x9 widescreen correct? or are there other differences?

The anamorphic is used to produce the highest possible resolution for 16:9 footage with the DVX. It gives you higher resolution than the Squeeze mode or Letterbox mode.
Whereas any wideangle lens doesn't increase the ammount of pixels but only gives you a wider look at the scene from the same point of view. So a wide angle lens is used if you are shooting a situation where you need a wider look at the scene, but you can't move the cam backwards (because the room is too small for example).
An anamorphic lens is used if you want to get 16:9 footage out of a 4:3 camera without losing any pixels (resolution). It also gives you a wider view, but that's not the first purpose of the anamorphic adapter.
