This is a second generation fast Nikkor 85mm F/1.8 prime lens. The first generation lenses after WW2 had a metal knurled focus ring. This is the series after that with the modern rubber focus ring. Its a full frame lens so it works perfectly on S35, APS-C and M4/3 sensor cameras and takes advantage of the sweet spot (middle) in cameras like the F3, FS100, AF100, Gh1, etc.
This lens has the all important manual aperture control ring as well as manual focus ring. It includes front and rear caps.
Both still photographers and videographers often claim the 85mm is the perfect portrait lens. Its a long enough lens to produce nice bokeh, but short enough to use indoors. Zooms are nice but the fastest zooms are F2.8. The F1.8 of this lens is a lot faster and produces more depth of field control.
The lens does have normal wear on the outside. There is a very small scuff on one side the outside, but it didn't go though the paint, so its still black on black and hardly noticeable. In the pictures the gray stripe is the reflection of a window, not a scuff. The scuff is above the words "made in" and is about 1/4" high. Exterior is probably 8.5 out of 10.
The lens has no fungus and no haze. There is one speck of dust that I can see but it doesn't show on images. Maybe 9/10 for the optics.
