83 minute tapes

Is there any good reason to not use the 83 minute tapes, such as
the AY-DVM83MQ? I shoot weddings, and the slightly longer tape would
be helpful.

The tape is thinner and could possibly get jammed.

Most manufacturers, incl. Panasonic, recommend NOT to use them.
The tape is pretty thin.

Maybe I've just been lucky.

Whatever, a tape is a tape. If you're afraid, don't buy them again. The ones you bought are still useable.

I've used them without any problems, too... but never with my camera.

I'll just buy 63minute ones from now on, then. I wondered how they fit more time in the same space. Now I know .

I doubt I'll have problems. Why would Panasonic make a tape and then advise you not to use it?
