8 Gig card firmware update? + erasing cards + P2 genie?

I've read here about making sure you update the firmware on an 8Gig card. What is this about & where do I get the update?

Also, I usually erase my cards by re-formatting in the camera, but may not have time to do that on an upcoming job. How do you guys do it in the laptop ? (Mac powerbook)

Are people happy with P2 genie?

There is a sticky in the Technical forum with the link to the P2 card firmware update. The bad news is that it requires a PC to perform.

P2Genie gives you piece of mind, and yes very easy to use. A must have for critical shoots, not worth it for just messing around.
