7Q ProRes Premiere Pro Problems

Hey guys,

I've been having trouble with my 7Q ProRes footage in PP. When i add certain plugins, specifically Colorista II and Beauty Box, the footage becomes very noisy and there is flickering in the highlights.
I don't have this problem with other types of footage from other cameras (like my NEX 5R).
I've actually noticed this only recently. I did upgrade to a GTX 970 video card.
Hard to pinpoint the problem.

If anyone has seen something similar or knows of a fix for it, let me know!

I wonder what the problem is exactly. No problems on non-prores footage. Hearing you have the same problem on an ATI card makes think it might not be Nvidia. Maybe not Red Giant, because i have the same trouble with Digital Anarcy Beauty Box. Others have said Warp Stabilizer gives them a similar problem. It's got to be Adobe, and some problem with certain effects on ProRes.

I don't know. Pay for the camera, the recorder, the gpu, adobe, plugins... and it doesn't work as intended.

I feel where you're coming from, but come on, you list no less than 5 different manufacturers. Yes, getting things to work as expected usually takes some troubleshooting.
I'm using an older GTX with PPCS6 without the problems you describe.

Can you reproduce the issues you're having with ProRes material that originated outside of the O7Q, ie, with another camera?

I downloaded a sample ProRes clip and didn't see the same noise. I can't say it's 7Q only just yet though, i'll try another clip soon.

Tried two different ProRes samples downloaded online (one was 220mbps, about the same as 7Q footage) and did not see any noise or strange artifacts. Tested with Colorista and Beauty Box, two plugins i was seeing problems with on my 7Q footage.

Hope it's not my camera or 7Q.

I only had these problems with Red Giant products.

Only one of their effects is needed to screw up my image completely, but i have not had time to do extensive testing yet.

I have an NVIDIA QUADRO K4000 card and use Red Giant Color Suite over Resolve for all my projects. I also shoot 95 of my material with the 4k2hd ProRes. I also use many many different LUTS in combination with the multiple instances of Colorista, Looks, cosmo, mojo, and various opacity levels of each, double stacking and triple stacking video clips with all these instances of Red Giant combos and different opacity and blend modes again in some cases. I don't have the problem your describing. I have never tried beauty box.....

I don't think it is Adobe or Color Suite...
