7Q price drop

I think even when the device is $500 cheaper when you actually weight up all the other things its not so cheap….

Nice!!! im gonna want a second one for the F35 rig. hopefully we will see some used ones on ebay for cheaper and cheaper CD SSD's!!! i love this hobby!!! give me more price drops so i can play :) thanks CD

My brief moment with a bit cash was "blink and you missed it" for CD ;)
Had this price reduction come just two weeks earlier I would most probably have bought the 7Q. Now I went with the A7s instead, so back to being broke and dreaming of one day having a 7Q ;)

that "on sale limited time only! but we don't put the end date!!" makes me the company looks "untrustworthy" a bit.

sorry CD, it's been huge help that your company and 7Q make FS700's life so much longer but this discount champaign...make you guys looks very "garage" company.

7Q is not the cheap SD card at best buy, and $1799 is not the money we keep in the pocket every day. i believe whoever wanna buy 7Q is dead serious about it, you know.

looking forward more future update for 7Q, thanks for your hard working!!

We have not and will not announce a time frame because it is an internal matter and not for public consumption. It is based on the number of units sold, not a time frame. We have a set number that we are making available at this price and when that number is reached the sale will be over. We are not sharing what that number is because it would not do you any good -- you don't know how long it would take to go through that many units normally or with a sale or in any other conditions.

We are having a sale. We set aside X number of units to be sold at a reduced price. When they are gone they are gone. This won't happen in a day or two. I stated at the start of the sale that we will have enough to last a minimum of several weeks. It has now been one week and the sale continues, as stated.

No, I will not share how many we have sold. No, I will not share what percentage, or any other private financial business information. Convergent Design is doing quite well, thank you, and while we are happy to be in open communication with our client base and the production community in general, there is a limit.

Totally understand and agree. There really should be a limit - I mean the communication of CD in the name of Mitch is
simply outstanding. Which other company is as open, shares that many info and also helps out when there are problems. And this almost every day. It should be appreciated and the effect should not be that more and more is demanded!

Interesting, now what are the chances that CD is doing this because thy are going to be releasing a 7Qv2 as soon as they sell all the old units? Perhaps they're clearing out old stock to make room for the new upgraded hardware that has 4K HDMI and 12G SDI and a 1080p (or UHD??) panel? Perhaps v1 owners will have the option of sending theirs in for an upgrade at a cost? I've seen other manufacturers do this... Sorry shouldn't be speculating but it's hard not to :p

And what if we just decided to have a sale to promote our product? Other companies have done that, have they not?

I'd love a sale on the drives! Knowing the tech it takes to make them, I know it'd have to be an industry wide reduction in cost to manufacture :(

Company's have sales all the time. I've bought several Canon lenses on limited time sales from B&H with big saving of 20% or more. Canon does this all the time and they're not a "garage" company. Why shouldn't CD have the same luxury?
