7Q image stretches / distorts when using Zoom focus assist

I had a shoot this weekend and it went well. The 7Q images looked amazing. I'm so impressed.

But have any of you guys experienced this with the 7Q?

When using the "Zoom" button for focus assist / punch in, quite a few times the image would stretch / scale really badly. See attached image. The only way to get rid of it was to disconnect the battery and re-power the 7Q. This happened probably about 10 times throughout the day and it kind of freaked the director out. Most of the time, the zoom was fine but it did happen pretty regularly throughout the day.

Is there anyway to get rid of this without disconnecting the battery?

Thanks

I don't know a better way to fix it, but just wanted to chime in and say i experienced that once a couple weeks ago. I wasn't sure what caused it, but i'll keep an eye out while using the zoom.

That happens to us all of the time. We always just power cycle and it seems to fix it. We havent had to pull the battery. This happens quite a bit. Gets pretty annoying.

I'll note this to the engineers. You can always power cycle without pulling the battery. There's the power shutdown (F2) button on the side and the Force Shutdown / Power Up button next to the Power In socket on the bottom.

A reminder: we issued a bulletin last month warning not to engage the Pixel Zoom while recording to ProRes as it can corrupt a file. Zooming while not recording has no issue. This will be corrected in our upcoming firmware update.

Mitch- just FYI... this happens quite frequently to us while just monitoring, not recording.
