7Q feature request: FS00 SLOG2 Virtual ISO 500, 1000 and 1500

Hi Mitch

Could we have a feature that allows us to scope and monitor the fs700 raw stream at a lower virtual iso, allowing me to over expose the incoming raw image for low light filming / cleaning up noise, while still letting me see my grey point at 32%.
The native iso 2000 rating while giving good highlight range in daylight is not so good in the low mids/shadows. if we could display at iso 500, 1000 or 1500 and expose normally on screen this would help right? allowing to choose our over v under key dynamic range, while looking at a normal image on screen.

Also if you could add metadata so Davinci Resolve grades the image back down automatically that would be supercool

This is already in development. I agree it would be a big help. Personally I like to rate the FS700 RAW around 800 ISO.

Or really just and in camera offset adjustment that allows manipulating the LOG curve up and down in arbitrary increments? Ideally in such a way that is nondestructive and perhaps works pre-LUT so it works for any LUT that's in use, once custom LUTs are available.

You have to be careful when doing that as it will artificially indicate blown highlights and otherwise misrepresent a characteristic curve for the gamma. On the Alexa there are custom curves for each ISO. They map the best use of the sensor rather than simply shifting the gray point up and down. Realistically no one would do that in a post grade anyway. They would always go for at least some highlight recovery or smooth the curve in the shadows.

We want to do it right, so it takes a little time. I look at it this way, we have "created" a new camera combination with the FS700/Odyssey7Q. So we need to create these new outputs and tools to complete the kit and make it function at its full potential. That includes both the internal grade as well as outside grade information, including the ACES IDT. We're working on it, and a lot of other things.
