7Q - Every other frame in a sequence is missing

Hi,

Just went and tested a 7Q at a rental house and they let me take the footage home to try importing and playing with. For some reason, in a few of the folders, every other frame of the DNG sequence is missing.

I know the drives were raided, does that mean that the other frames are on the other card? I only copied over one card because we weren't shooting much. Also, the folders that are missing frames have a suffix "SSD1" on them.

If this is the case, when you're putting the DNG sequences together later, do you have to copy all the frames together into one folder in order to bring them into an editing program and work with them?

EDIT: Also, is it possible to record audio while shooting in RAW or does it only work when you're shooting in ProRes?

Thanks!

Audio in RAW is only on 4K 24/30/60fps, 2K 24/30fps and the 4K to ProRes mode. 240fps 2K RAW doesn't have audio.

But to answer your question, yes, the other frames are on the separate drive. That's why they are RAIDed together. There is so much data being written that it puts even frames on one drive, odd on the other.

When you copy both SSDs (one has "_SSD1" folders, other has "_SSD2") you can use Convergent Design's CDClipMerger utility to combine all of the frames together. A slightly different workflow but really simple once you do it a couple times.

yes: you have to copy both ssds in this case
yes and no: there is a merge tool available on the CD website
yes: it is
