Is it possible to record 1080p at either 50 or 60fps to a Oddysey 7Q+ from a non upgraded Sony F3? I don't have the CBK RGB444 Slog upgrade only able to use Slog as a gamma selection from the picture profile menu.

If it's possible and how do I setup the F3 and 7Q+ can I get by with one SDI cable?

Surinder.

The Odyssey7Q+ will certainly record 1080p60, but I'm afraid it's been too long since I used a non-upgraded F3 to know if it can do it. There are the dual-link connections just under the viewfinder, and I know that you can set the camera to just output via one at 1080p60 4:2:2, but I don't recall if that is only with an upgraded model.

Thanks for the reply Mitch I purchased my 7Q+ mainly for my FS7 but it would be very useful if I could use it on my F3 for slow motion. Picking up my 7Q+ from CVP tomorrow will let you know how I get on.

Hi Surinder,
yes, please keep us updated. I await your findings on slomo for the F3. I believe you'll need two SDI cables to get it working correctly. Cheers

Not tried connecting to the F3 yet need some good quality sdi leads. Do CD offer any good quality cables and if so are they available in the UK?

Keeping me finger crossed that I can get ot to record 1080 @60fps.

Yes, we make some excellent 3G-SDI cables for on-camera use. They are Ultra-Thin and highly flexible, which is great for keeping them out of the way on the camera. Available in 18" and 36" lengths. Available from any of our dealers.
