7D HVX 5D Shootout LIVE! Please Help!

So I have an interesting dilemna: I'm doing a live performance shoot tomorrow night with three cameras and the way its worked out, I'll be shooting on my 7D and we have a 5D and an HVX (b). Whew. Ahem. A test of the tech. We're all scratching our heads on the best way to approach this.

So what would you guys recommend?

1) shoot 1080i 24f/s on HVX, 1080p 24f/s on 7D, 1080p 30f/s?
change the 5D footage back to 24 in mpeg streamclip?

how difficult will it be to intercut this footage from the interlaced and progressive?
how does converted 30f/s footage look intercut with the 7D?

2) or shoot 720p on the HVX, 5D and 7D?

The performance is solo performers (it's a youth poetry slam), so would you recommend the 7D for close-ups and the HVX for a medium/wide or the other way around? I have the kit lens and also the Tamron 17-50 wide.

any help on this would be mad appreciated...

Do you need it to be 24p? I'd think you'd get the best results from just setting them all three on 1080/30p. You're going to have to time-conform the 5D anyway, but changing from 30.000 to 29.970 beats trying to go from 30 to 24.

The HVX will record audio better than the other two, and it can run without overheating, which you can't be certain the others will. So if there's a need for continuous coverage, the HVX would be the one for that job.

I have shot before and after scenes at 1080 24p. (they had a semi finals before the show). Will there be a noticeable difference if some of the previous scenes are at 24p? would I put it all in a 30p Final Cut Pro timeline?

You could prolly get away with the behind the scenes being a different frame rate as a stylistic choice, but the 5D not having standard framerates is really going to be the thing that frustrates you.
