Afternoon all.
I shoot paid artist/performance promos and narrative personal work on a 5DIII in a mixture of RAW and h.264. I've got a potential job coming up in a few weeks which will require a second cam. Normally I would either rent or borrow another 5DIII, but for some reason I had a look on ebay and saw that the price of a used 7D in good condition was only a couple of hundred £££££ more than I would pay for the hire of the 5DIII.
To me this seems like a total bargain, but having never shot a 7D I thought I'd ask you guys. I'm attracted by the aesthetic of the crop sensor, the lack of learning curve in getting to grips with the interface, lens/battery comparability, RAW ability and 8fps still shooting.
Would a used 7D work for you as a B-Cam? What am I going to love about it? What am I going to hate about it? Do people find the poor high ISO performance a burden? Are there any gotchas I need to be aware of? Any alternatives I've not considered?
