7D/60D for Low DoF shots, GH2 for high DoF shots?

What do you guys think?

Seems to me that the Canon lineup (with it's great lens selection) is best suited for those beautiful low DoF shots, while not so good for wider, high DoF shots (aliasing, etc).

How would a GH2 pair with using a Canon body? I'm thinking it would be great for wider, high depth of field shots due to the camera's lack of aliasing and moire.

Anyone else thought of a similar setup? I have a lot of Canon glass, and I don't see any great converters for micro 4/3....hence thinking of a dual setup of some sort!

I don't know why you can't find any canon -> m4/3 adapters out there, I have and canon FD > m43 adapter and I'm planning to get an EOS > m43 adapter too very soon. I get nice shallow DOF with my fast FD glass on my GH1. No need for me to get a canon SLR for video for me... I want a 5DmkII for pictures though.

If you had a GH2 why would you want a Canon?

The GH2's sensor, contrary to popular belief, is only a tiny bit smaller than the APS-C on the Canons. The crop factor works out to something like 1.8 vs. 1.6 due to the 16:9 aspect ration in video. Moreover, the M4/3 system is WAY more adaptable to different lens systems than any other camera system out there, so the argument that the Canons have a "better" lens selection is moot.

Therefore the DOF differences are negligible.

Get an adapter for the GH2 and use your Canon glass, it'll look awesome!

I'm one who carries a 7D and a GH1 (a GH2 is definitely coming as soon as there is stock).

All my F2.8 zooms, long teles and ultra-wides are EOS mount, and my 7D still has better high-iso than my GH1.

OTOH, my GH1 has the excellent 14-140 which makes for a great little go anywhere and shoot package. And yes, if I need deep DOF, I definitely reach for the GH1 first.

I also have the EOS-M43 adapter, but since I have a 7D, it's just a lot easier to shoot with it instead when my lenses choice dictates it, I also get full aperture control.

my thoughts exactly

People are really confused about the DOF of the GH cams. It can get very shallow and is only noticably less shallow than the 5D.
Go try one out before you bother with a 2 cam system.

And, btw, the GH2 is phenomenal in low light.... far superior to the GH1 (I have both).

do you not use the eos adapter with the built in aperture blades? that adapter allows full manual control of an eos lens.
