77mm thread filter on HVX200

It's an original HVX200 and I was wondering if I could get away with a step down filter from 82mm to 77mm.
Has anyone here tried that? Will it vignette? It's only 5mm difference!

I used a 72mm step down adapter on the HVX... Yes, 77mm will work!
