720pN slo-mo uprezzing to 1080i?

I was just curious if anybody has done something like this already and what the results were.

I would like to shoot my next project in 1080i but take advantage of the in-camera variable framerates available in 720pN mode for certain scenes.

Would the uprezzed 720pN shots be noticeably different in terms of resolution?

I know I could change the clip speed in post, but in-camera really provides really smooth looking slow-motion.

Thoughts?
 
I did it. Used final Cut pro's media manager tool and converted the 720p footage to 1080i- There's a very, very slight softening at the image- but since this is only to use in specific shots, no one will notice- just sharpen a bit and do some cc, and it blends pretty well with the natively shot 1080i footage.
