720P to SD in SP4?

I have a client who has a 720P file that he want's burned on to DVD in SD. I'm assuming that it needs to be converted before I import it into SP4. Is that correct?

If so, would I do that conversion using compressor?

If so, are there certain settings I need to look for in SP4?

I would use Compressor.

Compressor is very drag and drop. Open it up, drag and drop a self-contained movie of the final output, drag and drop the settings onto the movie, then submit. There are DVD presets that are pretty good. I always go with Best Quality 90 mins (if the movie is <90min). Make sure that there are 2 encode settings on your file (one m2v for video and one ac3 for audio) before you submit the batch.

The resulting files will go into DVDSP4 and will not need to be re-encoded before formatting the disk.

I use compressor to downconvert 720P 23.976 material to 16:9 SD in one step. Works well.
