720P frame rate and codec help!!

I am the proud new owner of an HVX-200 and I love it. I am curious though because I ran into an interesting thing today. I did some 30P tests and when I imported the footage into a timeline in Final Cut 6, the time line set itself to a rate of 59.98. Since FCP 6 makes the frame rate of the sequence the same as the first clip imported, this means the clip is 60 frames rather than 30, right? I also looked at the clip info in the finder and it said the codec was DVCPRO HD 720p60. It showed the same codec for 24p footage. Can some one please tell why this is and possibly explain a little about the 720 frame rates to me since I don't have my HVX Book from Panasonic yet. Any help or links to someplace that can help me would be much appreciated.

Were you shooting 30p or 30pn?? In 720 mode, 30p shoots over a 60p timebase. In "n" or native modes you are only recording those frames that are needed. That's why in 720 30p or 24p mode you get 1 min per gig on your P2 card and in 720 30pn you get 2 and 24pn gives you 2.5.

Hope that helps.
