720P as mov and mp4

I'm surprised to find the DVX200 only records 720p as a low-bit rate AVC file. Working with multiple networks, many clients are 720p. Who's chain at Panasonic might I tug on to request a high-bit rate capability for 720p recording? Hopefully it could be added with a firmware revision. Using the low bit rate AVC is not going to be acceptable to our 720p clients, and I'd rather not use an outboard recorder.

Yes, but I'm thinking about quick-turnaround ENG work; like shooting an interview or B roll and running off to the satellite truck to feed it out. That could be done using a Decimator converter or similar, but it's another piece of gear to carry and set up. Or dumping the footage to a HDD for the producer after the shoot; if it's a 720p client, they're expecting the footage to be 720. If adding 720P recording in .mov and.mp4 formats can be done via firmware, I believe Panasonic should do this. Roughly half the TV stations in the US shoot in 720.
